Inner Landscape | Curated by Kaboom Animation Festival & Asian Movie Night
Location: Eyefilm Museum, Amsterdam.

A collective botanical tapestry shaped by our inner landscape.
Invited by Kaboom Animation Festival and Asian Movie Night, I take on the role of the host for the after-talk of the animation film 'Dandelion's Odyssey'(by Monoko Seto), as well as the Botanical Art workshop giver, to guide the participants to put their thoughts and feelings of the film into vision and symbols. A situational act, through touch, scent, shape, and colour, where we collectively perform on a piece of linen tapestry, with tangible dried flowers, leaves, and seeds.
A world of botany is emerging on every corner of this tapestry. You will find that many fantasy-like creatures are coming out in no time. The film has apparently set a flow of inspiration for the participants, as everyone is composing their own animated stories. Like a snake hiding in the bushes, a little girl is dancing under the rain, and a potato-like creature resembles what happened in the film.
I have been giving workshops in Botanical art on different chosen themes, but this particular one has challenged me to a different dimension positively. With botanical art as the essential form of expression, a social design mindset with situational approaches, and performativity as an ongoing chemistry in gluing everything together. I am more than delighted with this duration of togetherness and the celebration of our inner landscape that is rightfully captured with botanical language.
