Workshop: Smell Game
Could you imagine smelling a piece of visual artwork? Where your sense of smell and vision are connected?
Hello, My name is Ying Yi Wu. I am a visual artist, social designer, and storyteller specializing in Botanical Art. I have been sensitive to smell since I was a kid, which shaped my creative path as an adult. Especially during corona time, I have heard many stories about the loss of the sense of smell, which affects our mental and physical well-being. I became way more aware of the essence of our sense of smell.
Have you ever made art with natural botanical materials? During this workshop ‘Smell Game’, we will work with colorful dried flowers, leaves, and seeds with a distinct smell. You will learn new techniques to develop your creativity and skills in botanical art. With the help of relaxing storytelling, you can unfold your pleasant memories of food experiences to create unique works of art. Whether you are looking to reconnect your sense of smell/vision in the creative process or want to explore new artistic paths, you will take your unique creations with you after the workshop.
What will you experience?
• Learn how to use colorful and aromatic dried botanical materials in your artwork.
• Discover inspiring storytelling to voice your smell-memories to life.
• Create your unique scented visual art pieces with personal guidance and practical tips.
The workshop includes all the necessary materials. You are welcome to bring (dried) botanical materials with a unique smell that speaks to you.
