Host - Ying Yi Wu ( I speak English, Dutch, and Chinese)
is a visual artist, social designer, and storyteller.

As part of the exhibition Makers van Nu, I will host a series of Kungfu tea ceremonies.

Can you imagine tasting tea without a standard tea bag? Instead, you park your busy mind aside during an interactive and immersive Kungfu-tea ritual.

Sitting right next to the host Ying Yi, who creates Travel Tea Table, a tailored-made art installation specially for this tea ritual, crafted from a roughly century-old Maple tree from Oudegracht Utrecht. The low tea table, enriched with local botanical highlights and a 360-degree rotating panel, invites play, mindfulness, and connection. 

In small groups of no more than three participants per session (40 min.), Host Ying Yi will guide you through an intimate tea ritual centered around the flower tea 'Osmanthus' 桂花. The ceremony weaves the aroma and flavor of Osmanthus with storytelling, movement, and mindful hand dance performance. This allows you to experience the art of slowness, of truly tasting, and a journey into (inner)landscapes.

Kun je je voorstellen om thee te proeven zonder een standaard theezakje? In plaats daarvan laat je drukte van alledag achter je en stap je in een zintuijglijke beleving waarin kunst, ritueel en rust samenkomen. 

Je zit naast host Ying Yi, die speciaal voor dit theeritueel de Travel Tea Table maakt, een op maat kunstinstallatie, gemaakt van een circa honderd jaar oude esdoorn aan de Oudegracht in Utrecht. De lage tafel, verijkt met lokale botanische elementen en een 360 graden draaibaar paneel, nodigt uit tot spel, aandacht en verbinding. 

In kleinen groepen van maximaal drie deelnemers per sessie (40min.), neemt Ying Yi je mee in een intiem theeritueel rond de bloementhee Osmanthus 桂花. De ceremonie verweeft de geur en smaak van Osmanthus met verhalen, beweging en mindful handdansvoorstelling. Zo ervaar je de kunst van traagheid, van werkelijk proeven, en een reis door innerlijke landschappen.
